Should you report insulin use for patients with diabetes?
Question: Should we report insulin use Z79.4 for our patients with diabetes?
Answer: Probably not. If the payer didn't require this additional information in ICD-9, it should not be a requirement for ICD-10 reporting. Some physicians choose to report insulin use as it may indicate a higher level of risk to the payer.
