Tube Revision Procedure Bundling
Question: Our surgeon performed the following procedures on a patient (CPT codes):
- 66185 Tube revision
- 67120 Removal of tube
- 67255 Graft at removal site
- 66180 Insertion of new tube in different area
As there are bundling edits, are we able to unbundle and submit each procedure?
Answer: If the tube is placed in a new site, submit CPT code 66180 Aqueous shunt to extraocular equatorial plate reservoir; external approach, with graft plus the removal for the previous tube and CPT code 65920 Removal of implanted material, anterior segment of eye. If it is the same site, only submit CPT code 67255 Scleral reinforcement (separate procedure); without graft.
