  • Use CMS Tool to See if You’ll Face 2017 PQRS Penalty

Physicians can now find out whether they’ll face a 2017 penalty for performance in the 2015 Physician Quality Reporting System, using a new look-up tool on the QualityNet website. To check your status visit the look-up tool and enter the NPI and tax ID number you used to report for PQRS in 2015. If you reported at the group level, choose the appropriate option from the drop-down menu on the login page.

    • If you think you reported successfully in 2015, but the tool shows a penalty, you will need to download your 2015 PQRS feedback report for full details.
    • The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services should publish feedback reports in late September or early October.
    • Once CMS publishes the feedback reports, it will launch an informal-review period for providers to request review of possibly erroneous penalties.

If you wish to contact the Academy or IRIS® Registry about your 2015 PQRS performance, we cannot offered detailed help or information without seeing a feedback report.

The Academy will announce when CMS published 2015 feedback reports and launches the informal-review process.
