Description: |
This is a fully funded comprehensive medical and surgical retina fellowship for 1 year duration. The fellow works with 3 consultant retinal surgeons during the year. The fellow has high degree of independence in the clinic and operating room setting. Fellows can expect around 300-350 vitreoretinal surgeries a year. The fellow is also expected to be competent in cataract surgery, for combined cases. There is good exposure to intravitreal injections, scleral buckling, retinal detachment, diabetic retinopathy, combined cases, macular surgery, complex cataract surgery and different techniques of scleral fixation of IOL. Fellows are expected to provide out of hours service for retinal detachments and are supported by a generous on call allowance. |
