Description: |
• During their time, fellows will be expected to conduct clinical research for the purposes of publication in peer-reviewed journals
• Patient management (medical care) of children with paediatric ophthalmological disorders, specifically strabismus, congenital cataract, glaucoma, retinoblastoma and retinopathy of prematurity.
Although the research fellow would be exposed to and assist in surgery, actual surgical training opportunities would be limited.
• Services are provided for in-patient and out-patient care in a paediatric setting
• Participation in the academic program of the University of Cape Town Division of Ophthalmology, and teaching at various levels (undergraduates, ophthalmology registrars and other health care professionals)
• Competent quality of care, including clinical administration and audit |
