    YOs! With just under two months to go, it’s time to start planning for the Ophthalmic Knowledge Assessment Program (OKAP) exam scheduled to begin on March 16. You’ve likely been studying all year, but if there are any remaining gaps in your preparation, don’t sweat!     1. Ophthalmology OKAP and Board Review SlideDecks

      This free invaluable resource contains PowerPoint and PDF presentations authored by Dr. Steven B. Flynn offer extreme high-yield prep covering all subspecialties. Information is  presented in a Q&A format allowing residents to test their knowledge and have immediate feedback and explanations.

    2. Ophthalmic Knowledge Flashcards for Residents

      Designed for residents, the Ophthalmic Knowledge Flashcards were contributed by SUNY Upstate. This Academy-produced application will work across devices including desktops, laptops, tablets and smartphones and contains more than 1,800 flashcards, categorized by subspecialty. ANKI deck versions are also available.

    3. Residents Section of the Ophthalmic News and Education (ONE®) Network

      This one-stop shop for ophthalmology residents hosts many of the OKAP resources mentioned above along with an entire host of courses, interactive cases and simulations, clinical and surgical videos, webinars and more. 

    4. Resident Knowledge Exchange

      Launched in 2021, the Academy’s Resident Knowledge Exchange is an online platform to review and share study materials, such as helpful external resources, mnemonics, memory palaces, videos and flashcards.

    5. Review of Clinical Optics

      This easy-to-digest, hourlong video review of clinical optics offers helpful preparation for the OKAP exam via a question-and-answer format that’s focused on problem solving.

    6. Academy Pathology Atlas

      The Pathology Atlas offers virtual microscopy images of both ophthalmic disease and normal eye anatomy. Additionally, you can view images with annotations for helpful diagnostic tips.

    7. Basic and Clinical Science Course Self-Assessment Program

      Fan of Q-banks? Maximize your study time with this mobile-friendly resource. Efficiently gauge your clinical knowledge with more than 4,400 questions and customizable tests tied directly to Basic and Clinical Science Course™ content. Each question provides a discussion of the correct answer, including BCSC® excerpts and complete references. Use the interactive dashboard to compare your performance with that of your peers.
