Is there any risk that rubbing my eyes will dislodge the IOL?

Question:
After cataract surgery, is there any risk to dislodging the IOLs from rubbing my eyes in the morning due to excessive tearing?
Answer:
While eye rubbing is generally discouraged right after cataract surgery, doing so will not cause an intraocular lens (IOL) to move out of position after an uncomplicated cataract surgery once the eye is well-healed.
There are no hard rules here so I would recommend asking your ophthalmologist what their preference is regarding this.
