  • Ways to Give

The Foundation of the American Academy of Ophthalmology accepts charitable contributions from ophthalmologists, the public, corporations, foundations and other organizations. Your tax-deductible gift will support our mission to educate ophthalmologists and prevent blindness worldwide. You can help ensure that the programs vital to these efforts continue to thrive.

A NOTE ABOUT IRA QUALIFIED CHARITABLE DISTRIBUTIONS (QCDs):
The Foundation regrets that it is unable to accept a direct gift from your IRA account, known as a “qualified charitable distribution” (QCD).  These donations from IRA accounts are not available to an organization such as the Foundation, which is classified as a “supporting organization.” Supporting organizations are charities that perform the function of supporting another nonprofit organization, in our case, the American Academy of Ophthalmology.  Please consult your own attorney or accountant if you have any questions about QCDs.
