Important note: CMS can audit you anytime within 6 years of submission.
CMS MIPS Improvement Activity Audits
If CMS audits your MIPS submission, you will need to validate the information you submitted in each category. For the improvement activities category, provide the documentation outlined in the “Suggested Documentation” section of the activity specification for each activity you attested to completing. Your documentation is used to validate your activities and should demonstrate consistent and meaningful engagement within the period for which you attested.
