Intrastromal Astigmatism Correction
Video Journal of Cataract & Refractive Surgery

Almost half of all cataract and refractive surgery patients have at least 1 D of astigmatism. Because manual astigmatic keratectomy reduces rather than eliminates astigmatism, Dr. Stevens uses a femtosecond laser to precisely plan and place intrastromal arcs within the corneal stroma, allowing for successful astigmatic correction without exposing the corneal surface.
