Would an IOL straighten my eye like my glasses do?
NOV 16, 2023
Question:
I'm considering IOL surgery and I have a lazy eye. The glasses and contact lenses I wear seem to straighten it to a degree that is hardly noticeable. Would IOLs also have this compensating effect? I’m aware it will never be perfect, but I don’t want it worse than it is now.
Answer:
The IOL should provide the same optical benefit as your glasses or contact lenses. The only change will be the loss of any “camouflage” effect the frame or lens may provide by partially hiding the appearance of the turned eye.
