Question:
I'm experiencing the symptoms of eye sensitivity to light, pain under my eyeball, pressure on my eye, and difficulty keeping my eye open. Do these symptoms point to anything that can be a cause of major concern? I've had these symptoms for over 24 hours now.
Answer:
Although these symptoms do not yield a specific diagnosis, they are suggestive of a number of conditions including intraocular inflammation, corneal abrasion, or infection. You should be evaluated as soon as possible by an ophthalmologist.
