ASRS 2016 Preferences and Trends Survey Results

    ASRS 2016
    Retina/Vitreous

In this interview from ASRS 2016, Dr. Thomas W. Stone discusses highlights from this year’s Practices and Trends (PAT) survey, including an impressive 40% response rate. Dr. Stone said the data reveals that physicians are increasingly comfortable with intravitreal injections, particularly in performing bilateral injections in the same visit. Also of note is a decrease in use of laser therapies, in favor of anti-VEGF injections, for both branched retinal vein occlusion and focal diabetic macular edema. Thirty-six percent of respondents said they never use laser to treat BRVO, a 2-fold increase from 2014.
