  • CMS Changes Beneficiary Notification for MEDPARD

The Medicare Participating Physician Directory (MEDPARD), is a listing of all physicians who accept assignment on Medicare claims. By accepting assignment, the physician agrees to the Medicare allowable and will only bill the patient any remaining deductible, coinsurance, or for a non-covered service. In the past, CMS has instructed each Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC) to make a physical copy of the MEDPARD available to all Medicare eligible beneficiaries. However, starting in 2015, CMS no longer requires a printed copy to be available.  Each MAC may allow the beneficiaries access to this list on their website.  It is recommended that physicians/administrators view the MAC webpage to confirm that the information listed is accurately reflected.
