iStent Infinite With Cataract Surgery
Is it appropriate to use the iStent Infinite device when billing CPT code 66991 or 66989, cataract surgery with insertion of an anterior segment aqueous device?
Answer: Per the Academy's Health Policy Committee, it is appropriate to use CPT code 66991 or 66989 when reporting cataract surgery and insertion of the iStent Infinite and when meeting the Food and Drug Administration indication of failed medical and surgical treatment.
