Will There Be a Transition Time When ICD-9 and ICD-10 Run Concurrently?
Question: Will there be a transition time when both ICD-9 and ICD-10 will have to run concurrently?
Answer: On Sept. 30, 2015, claim submission using ICD-9 codes ends; On Oct. 1, 2015 claims should be submitted with ICD-10 codes. However both systems will have to be utilized until all outstanding or appealed claims have been resolved.
NOTE: Third-party liability insurance is not required to change. Therefore, you may still need to use ICD-9.
