Dr. Ghanta is the medical director and fellowship director of the Goutami Eye Institute in Rajahmundry, India. She completed her ophthalmology residency at Aravind Eye Hospital in Madurai, India, and a short-term pediatric ophthalmology fellowship with Dr. Eugene Helveston.
Dr. Ghanta is a volunteer faculty member for ORBIS International, Hawaiian Eye Foundation and Surgical Eye Expeditions (SEE) International. She has travelled extensively, including to Nigeria and Vietnam, to teach surgical techniques, including small-incision cataract surgery. She was awarded the Hawaiian Eye Foundation's 2009 International Award for Excellence.
