Sunburst in Eye

Question:
Will a sunburst in my eye from high sugar go away on its own?
Answer:
I am uncertain if you are describing the fact that you see a "sunburst" when looking out of this eye, or whether your physician has told you that there is a change in your retina that looks like a "sunburst." If it is something your ophthalmologist has seen when examining your retina, this is due to some bleeding into the retina; this condition will often clear on its own, but may require further treatment, including laser treatment. If the sunburst is something you are seeing, this may be a result of having an early cataract, and should be evaluated by your ophthalmologist.
