Optometric Surgical Scope Bill Clears California Senate, Heads for Assembly
California ophthalmologists are actively opposing two separate proposals that seek to extend medical care beyond the physician community.Last week, the State Senate approved legislation that poses a threat to patient safety by expanding optometric scope of practice to include surgery by an overwhelming 33-4 vote.
