Are there standard computer screens for children?
SEP 06, 2021
Question:
Are there computer screen requirements for children in terms of type and monitor size? This would be for use at home and school.
Answer:
As far as I know there are no defined standards for children for monitor screen type and size. School districts likely order a model best suited for the average child. Although children with special needs may require larger screens and font sizes than most children.
For home use, choose a monitor that best meets your own child’s needs for a comfortable user experience. Whichever monitor you choose, children's eyes are amazingly adaptable and can adjust to practically any monitor, provided it’s positioned at a comfortable height and distance from their eyes. Generally, the screen should be an arm’s length from the eyes and adjusted so your gaze is directed slightly downward (not up) at the screen. Read more tips about computers and screen use for kids.
