New Orleans Can't Wait to Welcome AAO 2021 in November
Hurricane Ida and AAO 2021
The Academy’s thoughts are with friends and colleagues who have survived Hurricane Ida in Louisiana and the surrounding states.
The storm will not affect AAO 2021, which is scheduled for Nov. 12-15 in New Orleans.
The Academy is in contact with city officials, closely monitoring the recovery effort. Power has been restored to the convention center and to many in the surrounding neighborhoods. Continued infrastructure repairs will not impact the meeting. We look forward to bringing our community together, where all of ophthalmology meets, in New Orleans.
New: Vaccination Requirement
The Academy is committed to your safety at AAO 2021. Therefore, our Board of Trustees has determined that proof of COVID-19 vaccination will be required for all registrants attending the meeting in person in New Orleans.
See the Health and Safety webpage for more information.

Providing more community engagement opportunities in the Expo.
A robust virtual component for those unable to join us in-person or who want to view a session they may have missed on-site.
