Help OPHTHPAC Strengthen Our Voice in D.C.

OPHTHPAC is the Academy's bipartisan PAC that works to educate members of Congress on issues important to both sides of the political aisle. We work for ophthalmology.

    Become an EyeCare America Volunteer

You can make a big difference in the lives of patients with a minimal time commitment and without leaving your office.

How You Can Get Involved in Advocacy

Advocacy is an everyday activity in our profession, even in the simple act of contacting insurance companies or pharmacies to protect our patients. But there's more you can do to become effective advocates on the state and federal levels. Lindsay Rhodes, MD, explains how to get involved.

  • Interested in volunteering for the Academy? We have volunteers worldwide, dedicated to making a difference. Here are several opportunities to further your career and further your engagement with the Academy.

    Write

    EyeWiki

EyeWiki, the encyclopedia written by ophthalmologists and eye surgeons, welcomes contributions from any qualified ophthalmologist, or ophthalmologist in training. View content guidelines. You can also add EyeWiki contributions to your CV.

    YO Info

The Academy’s newsletter for young ophthalmologists welcomes original articles on practice management, advocacy, finding a job, clinical pearls or the topic of your choice. Email a 500-word writing sample and your CV to yo_info@aao.org.

    Ophthalmology®

The most-read clinical publication in ophthalmology invites physicians to submit their best work. Read Ophthalmology’s submission guidelines.

New: Ophthalmology Retina is the Academy’s first new peer-reviewed journal in over 100 years. Ophthalmology Retina papers report the same top quality work seen in Ophthalmology, but topics are more specialized and target retina readers. Find out more at ophthalmologyretina.org.
