New Chair for the Orbital Gala
We are proud to announce Christie L. Morse, MD, as the new chair of the 2022 Orbital Gala. Dr. Morse is the current Executive Vice President of the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (AAPOS), a committee member with OMIC, the immediate past chair of the Advisory Board of the Foundation of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and is a past chair of the American Ethics Committee. She has served as a member of the Academy Board of Trustees, the EyeNet Magazine editorial advisory board and the EyeCare America Steering Committee, which she currently chairs. She has been a clinical education committee member and then chair, as well as a member of the Practicing Ophthalmologists Advisory Committee for Education, the Academy representative to the American Academy of Pediatrics ophthalmology section, and Councilor to the Academy from her state eye society. She is a past President of Women in Ophthalmology, the American Eye Study Club and the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. She is a current member of the Pediatric Section of the Preferred Practice Pattern committee. She is a member of the Academy's Leadership Development Program Class of 2003.
Dr. Morse graduated from Yale University and received her medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina with a medical internship at the University of Massachusetts and a residency at Brown University, Rhode Island Hospital. Following her residency, she performed a Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus Fellowship at the Riley Children’s Hospital of Indiana University.
She is a partner in a multi-specialty group private practice in New Hampshire, where she specializes in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus.
