Can fungus from my toe infect my eye?
JUN 28, 2020
Question:
I accidentally got a piece of fungal infected toenail in my eye--will this cause a fungal eye infection?
Answer:
As long as you did not get a corneal abrasion, the risk of getting fungus in the eye should be very low. You might use some over-the-counter drops for the next week, but I suspect you will be fine. If you develop pain or redness, I would recommend seeing an ophthalmologist to check the surface of the eye.
