Question:
My son is 3 years old and has always had very dilated eyes. He's normal in every other way but now I'm starting to worry about the size of his pupils. What does this mean?
Answer:
Children's pupils are often more dilated than those in adults—the important thing to note is whether the pupils are reactive when a bright light is shined at them (pupils should get smaller). If this concerns you, please see a pediatric ophthalmologist for a more thorough evaluation.
