Question:
Does a traumatic cataract move around like eye floaters?
Answer:
The natural lens of one’s eye may become cloudy. This is called a cataract. Blunt force trauma (injury) can cause a cataract. The lens of the eye is held firmly in place by a structure called zonules. The zonules can also be injured in trauma. This can result in the lens being loose and jiggly within the eye. If there is damage to the zonules there are certain precautions and advanced techniques required to manage this during cataract surgery.
