  • Will my contacts work if I transposed the values for the left and right eyes?

    Question:

I got my prescription confused when ordering contacts for astigmatism. I put the numbers for my left eye in the field meant for my right and vice versa. Can I still use these contacts if just switch them around?

    Answer:

Yes. There are no differences in how the contact lenses are manufactured based on which eye you listed your prescription under. Keep in mind, the prescription for contact lenses includes the strength of the lens, the astigmatism correction if needed, base curve, as well as the diameter. You would want to confirm that the base curve and lens diameter are the same for the two contacts (this is typically the case).
