Drug Reimbursement for Patient with Inpatient Status
If a patient has inpatient status and is brought to the clinic for evaluation and treatment, will the drug be reimbursed when filed with place of service 21?
Answer:
The drug will not be paid due to the inpatient status. Best practice would be to use a low-cost or sample drug when medically necessary to treat.
