Does less pigment mean lower risk of pigmentary glaucoma?
FEB 12, 2020
In someone with pigmentary dispersion syndrome, the amount of pigmentary shedding does not seem to raise the risk of getting pigmentary glaucoma. But in someone with pigmentary glaucoma, the degree of pigment shedding does seem linked with the severity of the damage to their optic nerve. Hopefully, future studies will help clarify this issue.
