  • Should I worry that one eye blinks more slowly than the other?

    Question:

Sometimes one of my eyes blinks slower than the other. Unless you look closely, it's not very noticeable. Should I have this looked at and/or treated?

    Answer:

A small amount of asymmetry of blink can be normal. However if this condition has gotten worse or is associated with facial weakness, a droopy eyelid or a bulging eye, evaluation by an ophthalmologist would be appropriate.
