    My wife had vitrectomy surgery for a macular hole ten days ago. She continues to see a "halo" and is wondering how long she can expect the halo to be in her vision.

    It is common to see a variety of unusual perceptions after macular hole surgery because of the gas bubble. This typically resolves in three to four weeks. If the vision is getting worse or there is increasing pain, you should contact your surgeon as soon as possible.
