  • Will I be able to have my next eye injection for age-related macular degeneration?

    Question:

I’m due for an eye injection this week for my age-related macular degeneration (AMD). Will I be able to have it?

    Answer:

The decision as to whether you receive your anti-VEGF injection or whether it is postponed depends on whether your ophthalmologist considers it urgent or elective at this time. This is for the safety of the community. If they feel it is urgent, they will give you your injection, with the physician and his office staff respecting appropriate protective guidelines to ensure everyone’s safety. If they don’t think your individual need is urgent, they will probably recommend postponing the injection until a later date. You should call your ophthalmologist to find out what they recommend for you.
