Telehealth Time Requirements With Eye Visit Codes
Question: What are the time requirements to use telemedicine by phone for the eye visit codes 92002-92014?
Answer: Unlike the evaluation and management E/M code family, time cannot be used to determine code level for the eye visit codes. The Academy has asked the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to consider this, but for now the criteria remain the same as prior to the public health emergency (PHE).
