  • Billing for Exam Instead of Surgery

Question: If I perform a minor procedure that has less reimbursement than the level of exam performed, can I bill for the exam rather than the minor procedure?

Answer: Yes, you can choose to just bill the exam. However, you should perhaps make note of it for this patient. If you don't explain the billing and, at another time, bill the surgery, the patient may question your billing patterns.
