    A patient had 67042 Vitrectomy, mechanical, pars plana approach; with removal of internal limiting membrane of retina, to repair a macular hole. At a post-operative visit, the surgeon ordered an OCT to confirm the hole was closed. Is this test billable during the global period?

    Answer:
    If the test is performed to confirm a successful surgery, it is not separately billable or medically necessary. Closed macular holes can be confirmed in the exam.
