Why do my reading glasses improve blurry reading and distance vision after cataract surgery?
APR 27, 2018
Question:
It has been two weeks since I had cataract surgery on my left eye. I still have blurred vision. However, if I put on reading glasses of power 1.5, I can see perfect for both reading and distance. Why?
Answer:
It is not unusual for vision to fluctuate after cataract surgery. It is also possible to have some degree of farsightedness or nearsightedness and/or astigmatism after cataract surgery. This will also fluctuate and you may not have a final stable refraction (prescription) until after four weeks or more.
