    Question:

In cataract surgery, if the wrong size lens was implanted, what is the time frame during which the wrong lens be removed and replaced by the correct size safely?

    Answer:

You cannot have the wrong size implant as all implants are about the same size. What you may mean is the implant is the wrong power for correcting your vision. If this is the case, the lens may not even need to be changed as the power can be correct by laser vision correction in many cases. Some surgeons are not comfortable changing out lenses and other will change them out within 6 months of implantation but again, laser vision correction may be the simpler option. Speak to your surgeon about the choices.
