Journals Show Negative Effects of Budget Neutrality, Medicare Reimbursement
Mandated budget neutrality and the failure to enlarge the physician payment pool is causing CMS to undervalue ophthalmology and other surgical services. Also, data from the Academy’s IRIS® Registry suggests Medicare reimbursement could be affecting the percentage of bevacizumab injections usage.
