Chapter 5: Contact Lenses
Introduction
About 50% of adults in the United States (US) use glasses or contact lenses. A quarter of those use contact lenses; 90%, soft lenses; and 10%, rigid gas-permeable (RGP) lenses. There is increasing use of scleral RGP lenses. These preferences vary around the world; for example, half the lenses fit in Germany are RGP material.
