Acquired Eyelid Disorders
Eyelid Imbrication Syndrome
Eyelid imbrication syndrome occurs when a lax upper eyelid with a normal tarsal plate overrides the lower eyelid margin during closure; this results in chronic mechanical conjunctivitis. Management consists of topical lubrication in mild cases. In more severe cases, horizontal tightening of the upper eyelid is indicated.
