Postoperative Care
For ALT, postoperative steroids or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) have been shown to improve patient comfort. One randomized controlled trial with SLT suggests that the use of steroids or NSAIDs may result in improved IOP outcomes. There are no studies on postoperative medications after MLT; however, none are specifically indicated. Patients are usually examined between 4 and 6 weeks after treatment to determine whether an adequate IOP response has occurred.
