    Cornea/External Disease, Retina/Vitreous

Dr. Mahesh Shanmugam Palanivelu manages various post-trauma challenges in a war victim with a near phthisical eye due to a bomb blast. The patient presented with a closed funnel retinal detachment, an anterior segment filled with scar tissue, and corneal opacity, and surgical management was further complicated by retinal prolapse during dissection of the anterior segment scar tissue. Dr. Palanivelu successfully reattached the retina using a temporary keratoprosthesis followed by a corneal graft.
