Dr. Zia ul Mazhry and colleagues present the case of a 16-year-old with a history of bilateral, gradual, progressive and painless visual impairment over several years, as well as a previous clinical diagnosis of keratoconus. The patient was found to also have bilateral sensorineural hearing loss and proteinuria/hematuria, and was thus diagnosed with Alport syndrome. Anterior-segment OCT confirmed the presence of anterior lenticonus, and a bilateral clear lens exchange using irrigation/aspiration was performed.
