Value of AI in Clinical Practice

Dr. Rishi Singh, a member of the Academy's Committee on Artificial Intelligence (AI), touches on some of the specific clinical uses of AI in the retina community, including how AI has changed the way clinicians think about retinal fluid when monitoring diseases like macular edema or macular degeneration. With several AI platforms currently in development that can be integrated with existing OCT technology, AI promises to not only provide assistance in the clinic but also in home-monitoring applications, potentially as early as within the next several years.
