Warning Signs in Adults with Acute-Onset Strabismus

In this interview with Dr. Pavlina Kemp, Dr. Gena Heidary discusses key points from her talk entitled "Warning Signs in Adults With Acute Onset Strabismus," given as part of the Adult Strabismus for the Comprehensive Ophthalmologist symposium at AAO 2023. Although not necessary in all cases, pursuing a workup is something she typically recommends unless the etiology behind the strabismus is known with some certainty. Neuroimaging of the orbits and brain stem, as well as laboratory panels to rule out common mimickers, can be particularly helpful.
