Academy Obtains CMS Explanation for Proposed Correction to Reported Malpractice Rate Error in 2015 Fee Schedule

Responding to an Academy request for explanation, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) provided more details regarding the announcement last week that the malpractice component of Medicare payments for ophthalmology were incorrect, as a result of value errors in the 2010 Medicare Fee Schedule update.
