Congress Positions for a Potential Vote to Repeal the SGR
There is renewed energy on Capitol Hill after House leaders began negotiations to identify how to pay to permanently repeal and replace the Medicare sustainable growth rate formula. Since then, Congress has surprisingly moved fairly quickly to update legislation already crafted to get rid of the failed formula for determining physician pay. House and Senate leaders introduced that legislation March 19.
