Why I Contribute: Sohail J. Hasan, MD, PhD
“If you don’t have a seat at the table, you’re probably on the menu.” Those words, spoken at an Illinois state society annual meeting a few years ago by one of our guest speakers, political consultant Michael Dunn, really summed it up for me. All too often, the medical community and our ability to serve our patients’ needs effectively is subject to the whims and decisions of others who do not necessarily have the same goals as us.
