As we reflect on what we experienced during 2020, it is worthwhile to remember that the future of our world with COVID-19 in it may well mirror our past experiences of pandemics. In 1998, the World Health Organization (WHO) targeted trachoma in an attempt to eliminate it as a global health problem.
