Forward Optic Capture

Dr. Lisa Arbisser demonstrates forward optic capture, a technique for stabilizing 1-piece IOLs within the capsular bag. After rotating the lens into position, she cantilevers the haptic over the edge of the capsulorhexis, with the optic-haptic junction remaining in place and the haptics within the bag. This procedure is particularly helpful if there is a tear in the posterior capsule after placement.
